Key points about BNCAP
Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) is an automotive safety rating program in India. It is similar to other vehicle safety assessment programs like the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) and the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) ratings. Bharat NCAP aims to evaluate and rate the safety of vehicles sold in the Indian market.
The program assesses various aspects of vehicle safety, including crash tests to evaluate a vehicle's performance in different collision scenarios, such as front and side impacts. It also considers safety features like airbags, seat belts, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), and other technologies designed to protect vehicle occupants in the event of an accident.
