Overall Ratings
Everything was manageable till July 2023. Since July 2nd 2023 I had been facing engine overheating issue where the car overheats at after a particular stretch being covered say about 20 kms and the coolant starts boiling and overflows through the Lid and the engine overheat sign pops up on the driver information system.
I took it to the one and only authorised service center for the north East Indian region located in Guwahati and thankfully it's just 4 kms from my home. First they couldn't diagnose the issue at all and suggested me to change some parts and the coolant as the coolant drained out in the first instance of overheating. Then the car was delivered and just after 3 to 4 days of use within city limits, same issue occurred again and when I took the car to the service centre, this time they raised TPI (Technical Problem Investigation) and through TPI There are about 6 parts that was suggested to replace and without thinking much I agreed to pay for the same as the parts needed to be ordered.
After 21 days, the parts were replaced except for 2 parts out of the 6 that still didn't arrive hoping the issue could have been resolved even without those remaining 2 parts (harness and pipe) especially after paying a sum of close to 30000 and took the delivery on the 17th September 2023.
The issue occured again on the 23rd and 24th and then I took the car to the service center on the 25th September 2023 and they informed me that the pending parts recommended in the TPI has arrived (Harness and a pipe) whose cost including labour was about 15000. I was already in a state of confusion but still I agreed to pay the same and get the issue fixed as all I wanted is to get the issue fixed and got the car delivered on the 27th September 2023.
Today the 2nd of October 2023, the same issue occurred again just after covering a distance of about 20 kms. Therefore, now I can conclude that the actual part or the defect area could not be diagnosed and the service center is simply suggesting me to get parts replaced and had been causing both physical and mental agony for me as even after spending about 60000, my issue has not been resolved nor I can ignore the problem and continue driving as doing so would be really dangerous for the passengers and for the car as it might damage the engine system totally.
Now, I am totally helpless as my car is now in a state that can be considered as non repairable which should not have been the case at all in just 73000 kms as I am not a reckless driver and I drive on light foot. Yes, I do drive hard at times when the road infrastructure is very assuring but it's only high speed and not high revs or anything as such but again VW engines are reliable and atleast can take upto 1 lakh kms without any problem. Now I am completely helpless and really open for suggestions on how can I claim compensation for not being able to resolve the issue, for all the physical and mental harrasment that I went through in each and every visit to the workshop for the same engine overheating problem since last 4 months.
