It's been 8 years living with my Volkswagen vento 1.6 TDI and my overall experience with the car is marvelous. The drive quality, the safety, the build quality(fit & finish),the paint quality you name it, it is absolutely top notch and it's way above 5 stars . There is no comparison for this car, VW is Nokia of cars and it's a sheer pleasure to own it.

Bought this in 2013 and  after 6 months of purchase me and my family met with a major accident, due to a tempo guy's fault who suddenly entered our lane without any indication on national highway. To avoid collision with him, my dad turned the car completely towards the left lane and there was a big pothole where the car lost control and due to that our car got toppled 2 times at the speed of around 80km/hr. and stood upside down.

The car was completely wrecked and boy o boy I was literally stunned by looking everyone safe(5 members) without any major injuries expect few scratches caused by the glass pieces, that too on a car without abs & airbags, I must say today I wouldn't have been here writing review of my car if it was any other brand .The car was then towed to the asc, got back the beast after 5 months with a huge estimation of repair bill, in which 80% of the bill was covered by insurance. Now here are some of the pros & cons:

VW Vento Comfortline Pros
  • Top notch safety(The car is very solid and robust 💪, as said we met with an accident, considering the car with no abs and airbag , the car still saved us from the major accident 😌, hence from that day a diehard vw fan was born😅)
  • Superb drive quality (the way the car handles at high speed is literally next level, the suspension is the bestest to make the car stick onto the ground, the power, pull and the torque of 1.6 TDI literally just scares away all the stress and gives a big smile in my face🤤)
  • Best in class paint quality 🔥(even after 8 years, it still shines like a new one, i doubt whether vw cars age or not😂)
  • All four power windows are one touch up & down and anti pinch
  • All four power window buttons have backlight
  • There are no screws in the whole cabin which makes me feel as if I am sitting in a premium luxury car
  • The interior plastic quality is just speechless (Even after 8 years it still feels like a new one, with zero rattling)
  • The dual tone horn is so damm soothing to hear, I swear I don't feel at all like I am driving any 10l car, fells like I drive an audi😅)
  • Mileage is very good
  • Windows roll up & down using key(very practical and useful feature)
  • The laser welded roof adds up the safety level 💪
  • The sales experience was very good
  • No major mechanical issues till now💪
  • The wheel cladding and boot insulation is provided✌️unlike newer vw's😞
  • The quality of the roofliner is absolutely fantastic (Back at that time nobody used to provide such quality roofliner, the quality provided by vw cars those time were speechless!)
  • The front centre armrest is really very practical and useful unlike any other brands which is too far from the arms
  • No electical issues faced till now
  • Mileage is good(gives ample amount of mileai for a 1.6 engine)
  • Seat belt height adjustment make it even more practical (unlike in taigun which is missing 🙃)
VW Vento Comfortline Cons
  • Huge maintenance cost(almost goes up to 20k)
  • Once my flip key was broken and it was repairable by just changing the fob and putting the chip into the new one, but when i expressed this issue to the asc guys , they were quoting 11k for the whole setup( instantly rejected that stupid decision). Later got to know that the chip can be transferred into the new fob, did all those things and made a new key in just Rs1k(From that day I just stopped  trusting  the asc guys, like they  quote a bomb amount of bill just for a small thing which can be repairable)
  • In the year 2017 check engine light and glow plug sign simultaneously popped up in the instrument cluster and to change the glow plug it costed a bomb amount of rupees for a small thing (Bit pickup was dropped, resolved both the issues in the same year and till not it hasn't woken up, I hope it continues sleeping 😂)
  • Rear seat comfort is very poor , for tall people like me & my family its very conjsted and feels suffocating to sit in the back seat(only 2 people in the rear can seat comfortably for few hours, and all the credit goes to the huge hump in the center)
  • The performance of the stock lights are poor(Had to upgrade to 120w, stock was 60w)
  • The quality of the ac vents feels very delicate and cheap to use(Had replaced both side vents once)
  • The power window buttons again feel very low quality and feels too cheap(feels cheaper than maruti suzuki 😂)
  • Only 1 reverse lamp is provided, they could have given 2 by putting the rear fog light somewhere else)
  • Right wiper can't be lifted up as it bangs the bonnet😑(It's resolved in the newer polo's and vento's)
  • The TDI motor produces bit of black smoke once it gets aged
  • Minimal storage places to keep bottles
  • The seats could have been little more softer(bit on harder side)
  • I heard many owners complaining about the orvm adjustment joystick breaking( but in my case it's still intact 😅)

So these were some of pros & cons of my beast, I hope you like my review ✌️ And also I would like to thank you for letting me to share the experience with my car 😊.

Cheers!
