My dad made the plunge to buy this car they had never heard of in 2011 after owning a Maruti 800 and swift . Since that day the car is almost reaching 1.5 lakh km , has been run across India on long tours and has never broken down.

Dad being in the armed forces very strict followed the service schedule . NVH levels are amazing , paint quality after 11 years is still better than my cousins fluidic Verna he got which started coming off after 3 years . The only issue that I faced in the car was electrical issues of the power window which usually comes every 6/7 months and automatically resolves when you start the car again. I did get the new software after diesel gate installed. Honestly didn’t find a huge difference , power became around 5-10% more linear and the most notable change was the increased fuel efficiency. We get around 16 in the city and 24 at 80kmph on the highway , combined around 20kmpl . I’d we drive around 110-120 it’s around 17/18 kmpl .

Even after 10 years I had a stretch of road and the car still comfortably touches 180 and with a little more effort touches 200 kmph . I’ve never been able to take it past 200 though , I think it’s the gear ratio limit . I’ve had an accident in this car with a creta head on , we had minor scratches, creta had his bumper and lights damaged . I would also recommend to my fellow vento owners to not use the recommended 185/65tyres but use 205/60. Ride gets so much more complaint and less bumpy , didn’t really see a drop on fuel economy . All in all this is the best car we have owned and the next one will also be a Volkswagen for sure.
