Overall Ownership Experience

Extremely happy with the way my car drives, and it loves the winding roads of Kerala. It’s such fun to push the TSI motor around the curves.

  • The suspension, although not plush, is really mature and comfortable.
  • There are enough features on offer.
  • The overall fit, finish, and paint quality are excellent.
  • The looks are killer, and I’m amazed at how fresh it still looks after all these years.

However, I’m not really positive about the after-sales service.

Service & Maintenance Experience

Service and maintenance experience would be the only reason I’d think twice before getting a Volkswagen or Skoda as my next car.

  • Extremely delayed arrival of parts.
  • Shady practices at service centers.
  • Overall experience at the service center is not positive.

This needs to improve significantly for VW and Skoda to become major players in the country.

  • Build quality and solid feel.
  • Paint finish and overall fit & finish.
  • Looks
  • The 1.0 TSI (such a gem of an engine) mated to the 6-speed manual – a joy to drive.
  • Excellent suspension.
  • Feels like a tank; the “thud” sound when shutting the door gives peace of mind.
  • Really good fuel efficiency on the highways.
Things I Dislike
  • After-sales service and support.
  • Extremely delayed arrival of parts.
  • Rear seat space and comfort.
  • Drop in mileage in the city, unlike on highways – burns a hole in your pocket.
