The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) reported that retail sales of vehicles increased by 47.62% in October 2022 as compared to the same month in Year 2021.
20,94,378 units were sold overall in October 2022 compared to 14,18,726 units in October 2021. Total vehicle retails have climbed by 8.32% since October 2019, when 19,33,484 units were sold.
From 45,445 units in October 2021 to 53,362 units last month, sales of tractors grew by 17.42%.
From 10,39,845 units in October 2021 to 15,71,165 units in October 2022, two-wheeler sales climbed by 51.10%.

In October 2022, three-wheeler sales increased by 65.87%. As compared to 40,251 units in October 2021, 66,763 units were sold this month.
Sales of passenger cars increased 40.55% from the previous year. In contrast to the 2,33,822 units sold in October 2021, 3,28,645 units were sold last month.
Sales of commercial vehicles likewise went up by 25.40%. In October 2022, 74,443 units were sold as opposed to 59,363 units the year before.
Total sales throughout the 42-day holiday period were 28,88,131 units. This represents an increase of 28.81% over last year and a 9.10% increase over the holiday season of 2020.
