Toyota vehicles will receive 10 years of free connected safety services

Toyota will, according to media reports, offer long-term trial periods for its 'Safety' and 'Service' Connect systems.

While many companies offer a one- or three-year trial period for such services, certain Toyota and Lexus models are said to get an extension. According to reports, certain Toyota and Lexus models will receive a 10-year free trial period for their connected services beginning in 2023.

The Safety Connect system includes features such as emergency assistance, roadside assistance, automatic collision notification, and a stolen vehicle locator. The Service Connect system aids in preventative maintenance. Service reminders and vehicle health reports are examples of this.

The current batch of new Toyota vehicles includes a one-year trial period for Safety Connect, while Lexus vehicles receive a three-year trial period. Customers can choose to continue receiving service after the trial period expires.

The trial period was extended after Toyota Group Vice President Steve Basra stated that it is the OEM's responsibility to provide these systems without charging the customer, at least initially.
