Overall Ownership Experience

The Tigor EV was an early EV product from Tata, and my experience has been mixed. While the driving experience was fantastic, I faced multiple AC issues that Tata's service centers couldn't resolve.

Additionally, there were several minor issues, including:

  • Rattling sounds
  • Early rusting on wheels and other body parts
  • Brake and suspension noises

Tata, as a brand, failed to deliver a truly reliable EV. Many Tigor EV owners, including myself, have faced high-voltage critical errors, leaving them stranded on the road. To make matters worse, Tata’s roadside assistance is extremely poor.

Service & Maintenance Experience

The service center staff was not trained for EVs—they seemed to be experimenting on my car rather than solving issues.

  • AC issues remained unresolved, as they simply didn’t know how to fix them.
  • When I reported brake noise, I was told, "It's common in all cars."
  • Attempted overcharging—one time, they added service charges to my bill for work that wasn’t even done. Luckily, I was watching my car from the glass window in the service lounge, or I might have been charged for nothing.

Tata needs to train their staff properly to handle EV maintenance.

Things You Like & Dislike
Things I like
  • Solid build quality
  • Top-notch driving pleasure
  • Good sound system
Things I Dislike
  • Constant fear of battery failure errors
  • Poor AC performance
  • Rusting issues on wheels and underbody
  • No promised cruise control update
  • Poor driving dynamics (rear-heavy due to battery weight, excessive front-wheel spinning)

Overall, while the Tigor EV has some strong points, Tata needs to improve reliability, service quality, and software updates to make it a truly worry-free EV.
