Overall Ownership Experience

It is truly a head-turner on the roads. Its bold and muscular design makes it a crowd magnet wherever it goes, giving it a strong road presence. Driving the Harrier is an absolute treat. The engine feels refined and responsive, and it handles both city traffic and highways with ease. What really stands out is the suspension setup — it glides smoothly even on uneven terrain.
When it comes to long drives, this SUV shines:

  • Comfort
  • Stability
  • Driving dynamics

Whether you're cruising on expressways or tackling twisty hill roads, the Harrier delivers a confident and comfortable experience.

Service & Maintenance Experience

Service with the Harrier has been a bit of a hit or miss. While the car itself is fantastic, after-sales support hasn't always been consistent. There have been instances where even minor issues couldn’t be resolved at nearby service centers. One example is the common issue of car pulling. Despite multiple visits, the problem remained unresolved — until I heard about a particular service center known for fixing it, though it was quite far from my place.

Nevertheless, I decided to make the trip — and to their credit, they managed to resolve the issue up to 90%. That effort made a big difference in the overall driving experience. Tata surely has a great product in the Harrier, but there’s room for improvement in the consistency and technical expertise across service centers. Hopefully, things will get more streamlined with time.

Things You Like & Dislike

While I truly enjoy driving the Harrier, there are a few niggling electrical issues that persist:

  • The infotainment / speedometer display randomly goes off — not frequently, but enough to notice
  • The service light on the dashboard stays on constantly, no matter how many times I get it checked
  • Despite multiple visits to the service center, these issues remain unresolved

These don’t really affect the drive or performance, but they can be irritating and take away from the overall ownership experience.

Hopefully, Tata will address these recurring concerns with better diagnostics at their service centers. Despite the hiccups, I absolutely love the Harrier. It’s a car that truly has my heart — from its bold presence on the road to the sheer joy of driving it. Every time I get behind the wheel, it reminds me why I chose it in the first place.

No car is perfect, but the Harrier comes close in so many ways. With a few service improvements, it would be nearly unbeatable.
