Skoda Cars The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has certified Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s Aurangabad plant as a 'Green Energy Plant,' as the facility completes its transformation to 100% green energy.
The VW Group aims to become a carbon-neutral company by 2050.
As part of the Volkswagen Group's goTOzero programme, the Aurangabad plant increased its green energy capacity consumption and commissioned a 980 kWp rooftop solar powerplant in 2018 to cover 40% of its annual energy requirement.

The move to green energy is expected to result in a 48% reduction in CO2 emissions each year. In the long run, the VW Group hopes to be carbon-neutral by 2050.
