Overall Ownership Experience

The Skoda Kushaq is an absolute joy to drive. I tried and tested several cars in the same segment, but the Kushaq gave me a completely different feel.

I’ve driven cars like the Toyota Fortuner, Camry, Corolla, Lancer, and other Japanese vehicles, but nothing compares to the feel of a German engine. The refinement, performance, and confidence it offers make it hard to switch to anything else.

  • Overtaking is effortless, and the car has a commanding road presence.
  • It's so beautiful that I often turn around just to admire it after parking.
  • The thrill of acceleration is addictive — though, safety comes first!
Downsides (But Not Dealbreakers)

Some missing features like:

  • 360-degree camera
  • Rear seat space
  • Average mileage

But honestly, these don't matter much to me. The driving experience overshadows these omissions, and most of these features go unused anyway.

Even my dad was impressed — despite years of driving in the Gulf — he felt Kushaq’s ease of handling was much better than the underpowered or confidence-lacking cars he drove there.

Service & Maintenance Experience

Unfortunately, service has been a letdown, not just for me but for many other Skoda owners as well.

Accident Repair
  • After a minor accident, repairs were done on time, and the experience was much better.

However, yearly service experience was poor:

  • Lack of communication about what's essential and what’s optional.
  • The staff seemed to be adding services mechanically without actual inspection
  • Unnecessary items were included, inflating the bill.
  • One of the staff even admitted the extra services weren’t required — possibly due to inexperience or poor training.

Skoda/VW really needs to address this service experience issue, or else customer trust will erode, especially for new buyers.

Things You Like & Dislike
Likes
  • Superb driving dynamics
  • Confident performance
  • Head-turning design
  • Refined engine
  • Refined engine
Dislikes
  • Service experience is inconsistent and lacks transparency
  • Missing features: 360 camera, stronger AC, etc.
  • Rear seat comfort and space could be better
Accident Experience
  • Accident #1: Front (near headlight) – repaired locally; fit and finish was flawless.
  • Accident #2: Rear-end hit by a bike – claimed insurance and repaired at official service center.
  • The job was decent, but the fit and finish wasn’t as good as the local repair — even though this was the more serious damage.
Final Thoughts

Despite the flaws in service, the Skoda Kushaq wins you over with its driving experience. For me, driving quality > features — and that’s why I chose Kushaq (over Taigun too).

Yes, Skoda/VW is perceived as expensive, but most brands charge heavily — just that people don’t complain as much.

The mindset needs to change, because the value this car offers is exceptional.
