Overall Ownership Experience
  • The Suzuki SX4 is a fantastic, if not the best, product from Suzuki in India.
  • Designed for Europe, its standards of quality — be it comfort, driving experience, space, or timeless design — it has it all.
  • Also, being a Euro NCAP 5-star rated car back in the day says a lot about its build quality and safety.
  • It has a high-revving nature, and it feels amazing to rev it up to 7000 rpm on an open stretch of road.
  • However, I am a sedate driver on the highways and usually maintain a speed of 80–100 km/h.
  • Another thing which gives great stability is the stiff suspension, but it still somehow absorbs bumps really well.
  • 90% of its parts are made in Japan, which speaks a lot about how well-made it is.
  • It is also the only Suzuki car with the M16A 1.6L NA petrol engine.
Service & Maintenance Experience
  • We visit the service centre which we have had a relationship with since we owned the Maruti 800 bought by my grandfather (the first batch of the Made in Japan 800, another icon).
  • Service has been nothing short of amazing.
  • The GM personally looks after our car service to ensure proper service every time.
Things You Like & Dislike
Things I Like
  • Fantastic engine.
  • Strong build quality.
  • High ground clearance.
  • Very comfortable back seat experience.
Things I Don’t Like
  • The dismal fuel efficiency, which is very unlike a Maruti Suzuki.
  • However, we knew this when we were buying.
