I had my XUV 700 Ax7 in December 2021. I will start from the booking process.
We looked at several cars and the car we finalized, was Taigun. But we came to know about XUV 700. We were just stunned by what Mahindra had made and then my mother and sister were really fascinated by it and the drive we would be better overall, better package then Taigun we felt, better performance, better features, better handling. Everything was smooth and luxurious.
We wanted a safe and performance-oriented car. Features were not a priority, but XUV 700 is good in performance and it scored 5 stars in global NCAP and ADAS. I know this feature is not important to many but trust me, it got into a situation only once and it saved my life. That 1 situation definitely matters to me. Because nothing is more than life, the sales team was pretty good and didn't expect from Mahindra. Then the booking process was smooth. Then we booked the car. They told us the brand would give a date that would be around 6 months. We were ok, we booked AX7L petrol midnight Black.
After some days the delivery time came. We booked it in November or October, I guess, and it showed April 2023. We were stunned. Again we thought about taking Taigun but we went to the dealer and told them we needed a car immediately, then he told us there was 1 XUV 700 in yard, which was ordered but then, due to some loan case, the individual cannot receive his/her car.
We got excited but it was Ax7 white petrol that was too manual. We were pretty unhappy with that. The dealer told us we had to email Mahindra and change colour and variant. We were left with no option. Taigun top model, I think going around 20 to 21 lakh at that time Gt plus. We were getting better deal, a powerful engine, safe car that is tested, better ride quality luxury, features and space, so we got the XUV 700 in December.
It is really sad that, in Mahindra, customers don't decide what variant they want. We were paying, still we have to downgrade our variant. I know about semiconductor shortage and all still we really wanted the best.
It's ok but we were upset, but when our car entered for delivery we just saw her and forgot everything. There is really nothing like XUV 700, it catches your eyes. Everything was perfect. The delivery experience was good. They even arrange cake on the road.
Extra Accessories & Cost
I think it cost us around 22 lakh with some accessories which we feel required and an extended warranty. We took it because it was the first batch car with so much electronics in Mahindra. 5 years warranty. Then we took delivery & we went to trip a small trip and There the ADAS saved the accident. After the situation like that never came thanks to adas for saving our day.
Issues Faced & Performance
After a month in the left of co driver side, the panel came off. We were stunned to see that in the new car, it came a little bit, not whole. It was a issue of fit and finish and speaker at high bass song started vibrating. We continue to use for 1 month. Let me tell you it is the smoothest and one of most stable SUVs you can get in this price.
Performance is unmatchable. The panoramic interior & nothing can beat this beat, The mileage is low but we were satisfied as what you can expect from 2 litre turbo charged engine 200 bhp and 380 nm torque is no joke at this price cars around 35 to 40 don't have this much power. Performance me hi pura Paisa wasool hojata h really (Full money is recovered in the performance itself). Everything else is like cherry on the cake. Everything is fantastic and really recommend the XUV 700 on other car.
Regarding the problems that i told you we went to a service center. We went for 1000 km. It was basically check wash you know the service is very Desi not statisfied. They are not able to solve issues. The guys are very unprofessional like they are still selling Old Mahindra cars, they don't even know we're our car is after 2 stars out of 5. We went back they told us they will try to fix them next time.
Then we went for software update. They came and pick up the car that I really liked and then they fixed all the issues, panel and the sound system problem. Now we are completely satisfied with our car. Only 2 problems. First is, that you can't get the car easily & second is that, there servicing part is very unprofessional. It depends on dealer to dealer, but mine was unprofessional. We have Hyundai i10 we are satisfied with Hyundai service and both service centers are owned by same dealer. I don't know why, but such big difference between services. Major service of car at 10000 is yet to come.
