Kia will discontinue the Diesel MT trims of the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens

The 6-speed iMT has grown in popularity since it is more convenient than a manual transmission and less expensive than an automatic transmission.

According to a media report, Kia may remove the diesel manual models of the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens later this year, leaving only the 6-speed iMT as the only diesel manual choice.

According to reports, Kia may discontinue supplying the 6-speed manual transmission in its diesel models due to shifting client preferences. It would also allow the corporation to better align its variation lineup with consumer demand.

Kia currently provides a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 113 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. It's mated to either a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 6-speed iMT has gained popularity in recent years since it is more convenient than a manual transmission and less expensive than a true automatic transmission.
