Visited Kasauli - Himachal Pradesh in my VW T-Roc for the first time. I didn't have any experience to drive an automatic up hills so tried with the easiest hill station first. Preferred an easy route from Ludhiana via Sirhind, Rajpura, Zirakpur, Panchkula, Parwanoo and then Kasauli.

Took around 3.30 hours to reach the destination Hotel - Windsor Resorts at Kasauli which was booked from MakeMyTrip for Rs 4500 per night. The property was good, hygienic, had good food, had scenic views, parking facility, had a bar, complimentary local juice drinks and courteous staff.

We had a one-year-old baby with us so we avoided Manki Point Temple and Gilbert's Trail because of the Monkeys/Langoors which involved a little risk. However, we visited the local heritage market, Christ Church, and Sunset point and the experience was great.

While coming back to the Hotel in the evening, my car got a tyre burst and I was able to put a spare tyre with the help of locals. I deeply thank them for helping an unknown tourist. One of them was working in Solan, Hyundai.

Before returning back, we bought an apple box from the local vendor, a juice carton, and some Murabbas from HPMC which claim to manufacture sugar-free products. They were very cheap as compared to the market rates in Punjab.

While returning back we visited Elante Mall, Chandigarh to have lunch and buy some stuff for my babies from Hamley's. Overall it was a great experience just to be away for a couple of days from the hustle and bustle of the crowded plain cities and working all the time!
