Hyundai Tucson has got Zero and 3 stars in the latest LATIN NCAP safety test which is considered one of the most strict protocols as no other car than VW Taos has managed to score 5 stars lately.
Tucson's build was rated as stable and solid but points are deducted mainly because of the absence of 6 airbags in the base variant, absence of SBR in the rear seats, wrong anchor points positioning for ISOFIX as per LATIN NCAP, middle lap belt in the 2nd row seat, ESC safety assist feature not mandatory and absence of AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) as standard.

Other than that, pedestrian safety points are deducted too because of marginal safety in the upper leg area. This has resulted in 3 stars ratings despite car providing good amount of safety to adult passengers and child.
