Harrier EV vs BE 6 vs XEV 9E: Detailed Test Drive Review Across City & Highway

Finally took three back to back highway + city test drives of BE 6, XEV 9E and Harrier.EV. Have a lot of thoughts but here’s the summary of each drive without going into features that any brochure would provide.

Harrier.EV QWD
  • Worst material quality out of three
  • Only boost mode provides instant torque and in other modes it’s a bit subdued which could be a good thing for those new to EV
  • Ride on highway isn’t as planted as Harrier Diesel
  • Least engaging steering of three
  • Suspension softness is blown out of proportion in the reviews. There is some body roll but nowhere unsettling at 120 kmph
  • Good comfort of all in BLR bad roads. Somewhere between BE6 and XEV9E
  • Boost mode is best of all three cars
  • Light steering at parking
  • Highest seating height gives commanding position
BE 6
  • Least spacious out of three
  • Dark interiors a turn off
  • Best dynamics, closest to Germans
  • Reviews have blown the suspension stiffness out of proportion. It’s actually the best out of three cars on bad BLR roads and highways alike.
  • Even the rear seat legroom is blown out of proportion. It works good if you’re not 6ft+
  • Material quality is good for the price
  • Solid door and dashboard feel
  • Loved the steering feel; most engaging
  • Planted like a rock in high speeds
  • Sports mode and even normal mode gives instant torque
XEV 9E
  • Too soft suspension at low speeds that it produces body roll
  • Steering not as engaging as BE 6
  • A pillers too thick, in a car this huge you’ll need 360 deg camera every time you go through streets
  • Suspension gets much better at high speeds
  • Best material quality out of all three cars
  • Roomy white interiors feel like a sofa in back seat
  • Super Solid door and dashboard feel, rivals cars double the price tag
  • Amazing NVH levels
  • Third screen is useful for kids and family
