Review Comments

I'm writing this review after having driven around 14000 kms in the past 3 years. I own the Diesel Freestyle and it is the best car I've ever owned.

Ford Freestyle Titanium Plus Pros
  • Performance & Braking - With 100 horses and 215Nm torque every time you drive it, this car puts a smile on your face and the brakes are also on point with good pedal feel.
  • Safety - ABS, ESP, Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist, Brake Assist are some of the safety tech along with segment best 6 airbags makes it a good proposition.
  • Handling - Although body roll is present it is very well contained and the icing on the cake is the steering. It offers great feel and feedback. It is light at lower speeds and weighs up brilliantly at higher speeds. But it has slight slack at the center head position which has to be improved.
  • Fuel Efficiency - City(16-18kmpl), Highway(23-25kmpl)
  • Maintenance (Service Cost) - There are a lot of people who think that all Ford cars are expensive to maintain but that's not true at all. The 2nd service costed me just 3.3k.To give you an idea our i20 petrol's 2nd service costed us almost 7k. So get it away from your head that Ford cars are expensive to maintain in fact they are the cheapest.
Ford Freestyle Titanium Plus Cons
  • Plastic Quality - The interior plastic quality on the Freestyle feels really cheap and the fit and finish is not up to the mark.
  • Features - Ford should offer projector headlights and LED DRLs at least in the top spec variants and in the latest update they have removed the Sync 3 system from Titanium+ variant which is a bummer. There are no request sensors on the doors as well which is offered on the Ecosport.
  • Boot Space - At 257L the boot space is very limited and it doesn't even offer 60:40 split rear seats. Overall the Ford Freestyle Diesel is a fun cross hatch that you can buy if your budget is limited but that's said if you can stretch your budget then you can go for the Ecosport which offers much more space, features and practicality than the Freestyle.
