Overall Ownership Experience
  • Extremely amazing & actually proud to own a classic, superbly built sub-compact (<4m) OG SUV.
  • Offers excellent road grip, torque, powerful engine, and tank-like build.
  • To the surprise of many, it is reliable to the core if maintained well.
Service & Maintenance Experience
  • Many were doubting after the Ford exit, but I was always confident about the vehicle itself.
  • I was also confident about my own driving and maintenance skills.
  • Ford service never disappointed — they are still active, and almost 80% of parts are still easily available (not that you will need many, except for unavoidable situations).
Things You Like & Dislike
Things I Like
  • Unlike current sub-compacts, the Ford EcoSport is a looker — still, in my opinion, a classic example of a well-designed car that will remain evergreen even after years.
  • Build quality, torque (in MT), top speeds, suspension, and placement of necessary features in the 2020 model can give many C-segment SUVs a run for their money.
  • Steering feels solid, and the feedback is awesome.
Things I Don’t Like
  • Boot space, like all counterparts, is a compromise.
  • Clutch causes problems after 15k kms, and will have to be replaced by 20k kms if driven regularly in city traffic conditions.
  • This car is not ideal for regular city use, mainly because of its weight and its raring-to-go engine.
