New Delhi, India, 29th December 2025

Luxury motorcycle brand Ducati today announced the highly anticipated launch of the all-new XDiavel V4 in India, introducing a Sport Cruiser that redefines performance, style, and comfort. Applying Ducati’s distinctive "Sport Cruiser" philosophy, the new XDiavel V4 delivers an exhilarating blend of cutting-edge MotoGP-derived V4 engine technology, sophisticated design, and unparalleled comfort for both road and touring enthusiasts.

The XDiavel V4 embodies the very essence of a modern, high-performance cruiser, stripping away conventional expectations to highlight its mechanical beauty and raw power. This unique motorcycle seamlessly combines the visceral performance of its V4 Granturismo engine with a relaxed cruiser riding position and the sensual beauty that characterizes all Ducatis. It is a bike for those who demand something different, who love to stand out, offering an intuitive, lively, and enjoyable ride that perfectly balances its cruiser charm with the Dragster performance that has always defined the XDiavel.

What Mr. Bipul Chandra Said

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, “The XDiavel V4 perfectly embodies Ducati’s unwavering commitment of pushing the boundaries of design, performance, and innovation. We are absolutely thrilled to introduce this ultimate Sport Cruiser to India. With the new V4 Granturismo engine, the XDiavel V4 delivers thrilling performance, exceptional low-end torque, and unexpected agility, while maintaining the comfort and commanding presence of a cruiser. That single sided swingarm and the rear alloy wheel design is gorgeous and is my favourite design element of the XDiavel V4.”

Unmistakable Design & Ergonomics

The XDiavel V4 is a bike of contrasts, evident from the first glance. Bold shapes, inspired by supercars, are highlighted by the proudly visible four-exit exhaust. The muscular fuel tank immediately captures the eye with the new and iridescent Burning Red and Black Lava colours, created specifically for the XDiavel V4, producing fluid and elegant reflections in the light. The signature full-LED front and rear light clusters, including the double C profile DRL and dynamic direction indicators integrated into the side panels, distinctly characterize the XDiavel V4's look. The "Welcome Effect" when the instrument panel is activated underscores the bike's sophistication.

The single-sided aluminium swingarm provides an unobstructed view of the visually light, deep rear wheel, fitted with an imposing 240/45 tyre. The five star-shaped spokes of the rims, with machined surfaces, echo the aesthetic of American muscle cars. Rider comfort is substantially improved with a low seat (770 mm from the ground) and a handlebar set back and lowered compared to the XDiavel 1260, facilitating manoeuvring. The rear suspension features increased travel of 25 mm, combined with a wide, well-profiled, and thicker seat. The passenger also benefits from a more spacious (+30% in width, +50% in length) and comfortable (+25 mm thick) seat, along with a rear grab handle supplied as standard. For those seeking a more dynamic riding position, the Ducati catalogue offers a special kit to move the footpegs rearward, and an accessory tail fairing can transform the XDiavel V4 into a feisty single seater.

Heart of the Beast: The New V4 Granturismo Engine

At the core of the XDiavel V4 is the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, a technical marvel that significantly improves performance, dynamics, and riding pleasure. This is achieved through the sophisticated technology of the counter-rotating crankshaft, which, like on Ducati's MotoGP bikes, reduces the gyroscopic effect, thereby increasing nimbleness. The engine is a central design element, enhanced by its glossy black finish, unique among Ducati V4 engines.

Powerful at 168 hp and rich in torque at all speeds (with a peak of 12.8 kgm at 7,500 rpm), the V4 Granturismo (derived from the Desmosedici Stradale of the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4) is exceptionally light and compact. It delivers power smoothly and is usable even at the lowest speeds. It is also characterized by low running costs, with major maintenance interventions scheduled at an industry-leading 60,000 km and is efficient in terms of fuel consumption and emissions thanks to an extended cylinder deactivation system. This system switches off the rear cylinder bank not only when stationary but also when riding at low revs under reduced engine load. The Twin Pulse firing order, combined with a dedicated exhaust system developed for superior “sound quality,” gives the XDiavel V4's Granturismo engine an unmistakable timbre, with a varying exhaust tone as it seamlessly transitions between two- and four-cylinder modes.

Benchmark Chassis & Handling

The exhilarating performance of the V4 Granturismo engine is complemented by unexpected nimbleness and dynamics for a bike of this type, ensuring riding pleasure and safety in every situation. The XDiavel V4 boasts a kerb weight of 229 kg, a saving of 6 kg compared to the XDiavel 1260 S, achieved through the lightness of the V4 Granturismo and targeted interventions across many of the bike’s elements. This is combined with refined components, including an inverted 50 mm fork and a shock absorber with a cantilever layout, both fully adjustable.

The result is a bike capable of breathtaking acceleration and deceleration with remarkable ease and safety. The 168 horsepower V4 Granturismo, paired with the 240/45 rear tyre and dedicated gear ratios, allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, delivering a truly impressive thrust. The braking system, featuring 330 mm discs and Brembo Stylema® calipers, ensures record-breaking performance with peak deceleration values of 11.5 m/s², a figure typically associated with racing bikes, made achievable thanks to a highly refined calibration of the ABS system, enhancing safety in all conditions.

Advanced Electronics for Uncompromised Control

Riders can fully and safely exploit the performance of the XDiavel V4 thanks to a complete and highly effective electronics package. The XDiavel V4 offers three Power Modes and four Riding Modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet. These allow the rider to adapt the engine delivery and the intervention of the riding assistance systems – Ducati Traction Control in Cornering version, Ducati Wheelie Control, and ABS Cornering – to the specific situation and personal preferences.

Cruise Control makes motorway journeys more relaxing, while the Ducati Quick Shift up/down, derived from that of the new Panigale V4, ensures less tiring and more effective gear changes in sport riding. Finally, Launch Control guarantees blazing starts to fully exploit the XDiavel V4's acceleration capabilities. All electronic systems are managed via backlit handlebar controls and a new 6.9” TFT colour dashboard with an 8:3 aspect ratio, first seen on the Panigale V4. The dashboard also offers Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone pairing (calls, messages, music) and can support an optional Turn-by-turn navigation system via the Ducati Link App. Its protective glass utilizes Optical Bonding technology for optimal readability in all light conditions.

Personalisation & Touring Capabilities

Enthusiasts looking to enhance the touring capabilities of their XDiavel V4 will find a wide array of options in the Ducati Performance catalogue. These include semi-rigid 48-litre panniers (for which the bike is predisposed, complete with body-coloured covers) which must be mounted with the passenger backrest, featuring an additional headlight and integrated side handles for comfortable two-up travel. Comfort can be further improved with accessory plexiglass, offered in a more protective Touring version or a more aggressive Sport version.

Taller riders can optimize ergonomics with the Comfort seat, featuring greater foam thickness (+15 mm) and a premium covering. For those who wish to accentuate the XDiavel's low-ride image, a 15 mm lowered seat is also available. The sportier side of the XDiavel V4 can be amplified with a homologated exhaust silencer (with cover and four titanium end caps) and a single-seater tail fairing that replaces the passenger seat. Additionally, machined-from-solid components, carbon parts, forged rims, and red or black brake calipers are available for further personalization.

Colours and Availability

For the first time, the XDiavel V4 is available in two striking metallic colours, Burning Red and Black Lava, whose names evoke fire and underline the emotions awakened by this bike. This marks the first time the XDiavel is offered in a red, distinct from the iconic Ducati Red and brilliant Racing Red. Black Lava, meanwhile, enriches the classic glossy black typical of the cruiser world with warm tones that reflect the unique, complex, and sophisticated personality of the XDiavel V4.
