6 Lakhs Vehicles exported by Skoda Volkswagen India

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has hit a major milestone by exporting 600,000 cars from its manufacturing site in Chakan, Pune.


This organization handles the Indian operations of renowned Volkswagen Group brands like Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

Their goal is to make the Volkswagen Group the top European car manufacturer in India. This export achievement is a big deal, firmly establishing India as a vital hub for VW Group exports while they keep pushing into the growing Indian market.

Reason for the export

It all started with the Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento models, pioneers in their segments. These cars set the stage for India to become a significant export center for the Group.

Building on this success, the Volkswagen Virtus, Volkswagen Taigun, and Škoda Kushaq have continued this trend, impressing with their innovation and adaptability in both left-hand and right-hand drive versions.

Export countries

Cars made in India are in high demand in places like Mexico, GCC countries, Sub Sahara, North Africa, and various Asian markets. This strengthens the Group’s global presence. Notably, the Kushaq marks a milestone as the first Škoda vehicle exported from India.
